Ronan Day-Lewis (Daniel's son) just brought his dad out of retirement for 'Anemone' movie

Daniel Day-Lewis is back on the call sheet.
The three-time best actor Oscar winner, who abruptly retired in 2017, has returned to making movies.
He'll be back on the big screen in "Anemone," a movie directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, making his directorial debut. The script was co-written by the actor and his son, and "explores the intricate relationships between fathers, sons and brothers, and the dynamics of familial bonds," according to the announcement from Focus Features.
Day-Lewis, 67, who nabbed Oscar gold for "My Left Foot" (1990), "There Will Be Blood" (2008) and "Lincoln" (2013), is widely considered one of the greatest acting talents of his or perhaps any generation.

In 2017, shortly before he received yet another best actor nomination for 2018's "Phantom Thread," the Irish actor known for his intensity and full immersion into his roles (he insisted cast and crew on "Lincoln" address him as Abraham Lincoln) suddenly quit the business.
“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor," his representative Leslee Dart said at the time. "He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject.”
"Phantom Thread," a drama set in the world of high fashion, reunited Day-Lewis with his "There Will Be Blood" director Paul Thomas Anderson. His other memorable films include "Last of the Mohicans" and "Gangs of New York."
The news release gave no reason for Day-Lewis' decision to return to acting. It's unclear if he has a leading role in "Anemone," which also stars Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley and Safia Oakley-Green.
In a statement, Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski hailed the father and son for writing "a truly exceptional script," adding "we look forward to bringing their shared vision to audiences alongside the team at Plan B.” Plan B is a production company founded by Brad Pitt and other Hollywood stars and dealmakers.
The New York Post published photos on Tuesday that showed Day-Lewis on a motorcycle in the streets of Manchester, England, over the past weekend. A camera crew is seen filming while Day-Lewis rides through the city with Bean seated behind him wearing an oversized backpack.
Day-Lewis is seen smiling in a number of shots, disguised in small part by both a large motorcycle helmet as well as an impressive growth of mutton-chop sideburns.
